About Me

Hi, I'm Mia.

I am a hardworking and creative graduate from Leeds Arts University with a 2:1 in Photography. Over the course of the degree I specialised in landscape photography, with a specific interest in the relationship between manmade structures and the land. This allowed me to stray from digital photography and explore film, specifically 35mm and medium format, which changed the way I photographed and challenged me to consider the technical aspects much more. I also studied fashion and portraiture, and product photography, with themes including mental health, gender identity and collective memory.

I jointly curated several exhibitions, my photographs were selected for a number of publications - including Reflections Magazine and Womanhood, and I also completed an Instagram take-over for ‘Inside The Outside’. I am currently working for a local magazine with aims to broaden my understanding of a professional graphic design environment. I have been working as Junior Graphic Designer and Assistant to produce page layout, advertisements and text for the publication, also supplying photographs of local business and communities to enhance the articles.

Please feel free to ask any questions using the contact page, and I hope you like my website which I designed independently.

Based in Derbyshire and Yorkshire.
